The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) are landmark pieces of legislation passed by Congress in November 2021 and August 2022. The IIJA authorized $1.2 trillion in support of infrastructure spending for the next five years - FY 2022 through FY 2026. The IIJA alone includes nearly $550 billion in new federal spending. Additionally, the IRA provides $370 billion in additional funding and incentives to accelerate the IIJAs programs for broadband, electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, transportation - rail and transit, clean energy, water, and more.
