Special Compliance and Issue Management Research Project

Our client – a national trade association - operates within a highly regulated industry. State and Local laws govern equipment specifications, safety and ongoing maintenance. The hundreds of state and local regulatory entities (Authorities Having Jurisdiction or AHJ’s) that set the rules for this industry adopt new rules throughout the year – some of which take effect immediately. In addition, State Legislatures enact laws that impact the industry.

Therefore, the regulatory landscape is changing constantly. A Model Code endorsed by the industry was being considered at the State level, but the client did not have the ability to compare adopted Codes to the provisions of the Model Code. This impeded compliance and failed to highlight Model Code provisions that remains unadopted. That made planning for advocacy more difficult.
