Defeating proposed model legislation damaging to association client’s industry from a national legislative policy group.

Stateside directed an effort to defeat model legislation:
- We represented the client through testimony before the committee considering the model legislation.
- We identified potential allies and explained the risks of the proposed legislation to their interests.
- We researched and provided evidence to key committee members about the consequences of the model.
- We coordinated communication between key committee members and other policy groups who had previously defeated a similar policy.
Results:
The sponsor withdrew the legislation from consideration after finding insufficient support in the committee for further consideration.
