The Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials (ASTSWMO) and the Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies (AAPCA) held their Spring Meetings in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Columbia, South Carolina. Discussions included:
- Risk communication among the states in advance of a May issuance of a U.S. EPA health advisory on perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) in drinking water
- State participation on U.S. EPA Scientific Advisory Panels
- Implementation of the new National Ambient Air Quality Standards for ozone
