GROUPS
The Republican Attorneys General Association will hold its Southern Regional Meeting 2/2/2012 in Dallas, Texas. The event will feature a private meeting with new members and two issue briefings, one of which addresses methamphetamine precursors. The briefing will highlight strategies to reduce illegal sales of pseudoephedrine while maintaining access to over-the-counter medicine for the public. Steve Arthur at sca@stateside.com
COLORADO
The Senate Committee on Health and Human Services will accept public testimony 2/2/2012 on SB 53, which repeals the Colorado Health Benefits Exchange Act in the event that the federal Affordable Care Act is ruled unconstitutional. Laura Evans at lae@stateside.com
CONNECTICUT
The Statewide Multi-Payer Data Initiative working group will meet 2/2/2012. The working group is one of six committees comprised of volunteer health care experts supporting the Office of Health Reform with the development and implementation of service delivery and health care provider payment reforms. FLORIDA
The Senate Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human Services Appropriations meets 2/1/2012 to discuss S.B. 376. The measure authorizes the Department of Health to adopt rules for recognizing certain national organizations that certify, license, or register specialty technologists, such as radiologic technologists. HAWAII
The House Committee on Human Services will hear testimony 2/2/2012 on H.B. 2536, which requires health insurers to provide the Department of Human Services their list of members in order to determine Medicaid eligibility. Laura Evans at lae@stateside.com
MARYLAND
The Finance Committee meets 2/1/2012 to consider S.B. 179, which prohibits insurers from imposing limits on the coverage of orally administered chemotherapy. Pamela Thorburn at pat@stateside.com
MASSACHUSETTS
The Joint Committee on Health Care Financing will meet 2/8/2012 to hold a public hearing on H.B. 3904, otherwise known as the PEER Act, which seeks to foster equity and efficiency in health care rates. Brian Jenkins at bdj@stateside.com
NEBRASKA
The Medical Assistance Advisory Committee will meet 2/8/2012. The Committee supports the Department of Health and Human Services in the development of health and medical care services policies. Members of the Committee also volunteer to work with and advise the Department, as part of smaller work groups, on specific initiatives that benefit patients and providers. NEW MEXICO

OHIO
The Department of Health will hold a hearing 2/2/2012 on proposed amendments to its rules concerning licensure of x-ray machine operators, radiographers, radiation therapists, and nuclear medicine technologists, as well as amendments concerning standards for accreditation of educational programs for these professions. OKLAHOMA
The Licensed Professional Counselors Advisory Board will hold a public hearing 2/8/2012 on proposed rule amendments regarding licensed professional counselors. The amendments affect the rules of professional conduct, academic requirements, continuing education, and licensure provisions. The Board will also accept written comments until 2/8/2012. The Individual and Employer Consumer Advisory Committee will meet 2/3/2012 to be briefed on the fundamentals of the insurance market and updates on legislative activity, receive feedback on Oregon Health Insurance Exchange (ORHIX) eligibility, and to discuss Webex technology and meeting logistics.
