NORTH CAROLINA

The Senate Commerce Committee will hold a hearing June 30 to discuss H.B. 1034, which allows automatic dialing and recorded message players to be used to make unsolicited telephone calls only if the call is being made to protect the public health, safety or welfare. The Senate Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Committee will meet June 30 to discuss H.B. 1100, which directs the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to establish stormwater control best management practices and standard process water treatment processes for composting operations for the purpose of protecting water quality. The Senate Commerce Committee will meet June 30 to discuss H.B. 1287, which bans the disposal of fluorescent lights and thermostats that contain mercury in a sanitary landfill that is unlined. Thomas Doyle at ted@stateside.com

PENNSYLVANIA

The House Committee on Urban Affairs will hold a hearing June 30 on H.B. 1055, which provides for the extension of certain permits and approvals affecting the physical development of real property located within municipalities. Jessica Hart at jwh@stateside.com

The House Labor Relations Committee will meet June 30 to discuss H.B. 1349, which provides for requirements and restrictions upon the issuance and application for an elevator mechanic license, contractor license and inspector license. Sarah Mysiewicz at sem@stateside.com

WISCONSIN

The Assembly Committee on State Affairs and Homeland Security will hold a public hearing July 2 to discuss A.B. 316, which expands, for the purpose of emergency response, those covered under liability provisions to include persons who are credentialed by another state or territory that authorizes or qualifies the individual to perform acts that are substantially the same as those acts that an individual credentialed in Wisconsin may perform.
