Michael Behm Elected Vice President of NCSL Foundation Board

Arlington, VA - Stateside Associates Principal and Senior Vice President Michael Behm has been elected Vice President of the Board of Directors of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Foundation for State Legislatures. The election occurred during the 2007 NCSL Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Boston, Massachusetts.
“Michael Behm is an excellent choice for the Vice President of the NCSL Foundation for State Legislatures Board of Directors,” said NCSL Executive Director Bill Pound. “He has served on the NCSL Foundation Board for five years now and brings a great deal of leadership, professionalism and experience to this position.”

With the strong support of NCSL President and Delaware Representative Donna Stone and the NCSL staff, we have embarked on an aggressive effort to increase the profile of the Foundation, foster more public-private interaction and partnerships and raise NCSL’s Foundation for State Legislatures to the next level of success.”
The NCSL Foundation for State Legislatures is a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation that raises money and provides leadership to support NCSL initiatives and programs and advance the state legislative process. Its volunteer board of directors is composed of corporate, association and union executives, state legislative leaders and senior legislative staff.
The Vice President of the Foundation Board serves to guide private sector participation on the Board and advise the Board President and NCSL Executive Director about the Foundation’s priorities and goals. Behm’s election represents the first time that a consultant has served in this role for the Foundation.
Since 1990, Michael Behm has been advising Stateside clients on a broad range of state and local issue management needs, including outreach programs to state and local policymakers, engaging state and local officials Groups, government affairs planning and lobbyist management. He is also the recipient of the Associate Partner in Excellence Awards from the Council of State Governments in both 2004 and 2006.
Stateside Associates is the largest state and local government affairs consulting firm. The firm helps companies, industry associations, charitable nonprofits and other clients work effectively with state and local governments.
